Today’s ride took me from the start (eastern entrance) of the Mass Central Rail Trail. If you haven’t visited – even just to walk or run – I suggest you do: www.masscentralrailtrail.org.
After crossing the second bridge I veered off the path onto a side trail. This trail wound along side the river that connects to Wachusett Reservoir and made for some beautiful scenery. About half way through the loop I came to the spot pictured here. I paused briefly but continued on the loop, passing another great spot on the stream occupied by another biker. Not wanting to disturb his moment I continued on and looped back to the original clearing. I took a long rest to sit atop that large rock, sitting and enjoying the sound of the water gently flowing by.
If you’d like to follow my adventurous ride, for some reason starting from my house, check out the full 17.24 miles here.
